While I never offiicially joined the 2008 Decades Challenge, I kept track on my own, not thinking I would actually make it.
The goal was to read 8 books in 8 consecutive decades, published before 2000.
Here’s my list:
- 1830s – Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allen Poe (part of Eight Tales of Terror)
- 1840s – Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
- 1850s – Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
- 1860s – Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
- 1870s – Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll
- 1880s – Treasure Island by Robert Louise Stevenson
- 1890s – War of the Worlds by HG Wells
- 1900s – Wonder Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
No problem on officially joining. Put your list up in Mr. Linky as one who has completed the challenge if you want.
Congrats on finishing!!
Great choices. Did you have a favorite? I love Jane Eyre and Great Expectations.
