Banned Book Challenge 2009

bannedbookchallengelogo

This is my first year participating in this challenge. All the details can be found here.

Runs from: February 22 – June 30, 2009.

I am committing to 3 books for the challenge, however there are many on this years suggested list that I may read as well.

  1. East of Eden by John Steinbeck
  2. James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
  3. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

Leftover books I still want to read this year:

  • Chronicles of Narnia (series) – I have already read the first book so this would be the second book and beyond
  • Fahrenheit 451
  • Lady Chatterley’s Lover
  • Catcher in the Rye
  • Harry Potters (series) – this will be book 5
  • A Time to Kill

What’s On Your Nightstand? – February

It’s that time again!

nightstand

Time has flown this month, of course, February is always short, but still I feel like I didn’t accomplish as much.

The last book I finished reading was Love is a Many Trousered Thing by Louise Rennison.

Once again, the Winter Reading Challenge ends March 20, 2009 and so I will have to have completed these books by the next nightstand:

  • Mystic River by Dennis Lehane
  • Pop Goes the Weasel by James Patterson
  • Three to Get Deadly by Janet Evanovich

So, I’ve accomplished three of my tasks since January. I finished If You Want to Write, C is for Corpse and A Thousand Acres, plus many other books.

I’m also in the process of reading Tess of the D’Urbervilles, What Color is Your Parachute, Stop in the Name of Pants, the Writer’s Idea Book, and The Host.
