This was my last of the famous books by Jane Austen that everyone should read, and unfortunately it wasn’t my favorite of them. Mansfield Park is the story of Fanny Price, born to a poor family but raised by her rich relatives.
Like most novels of this time, it’s a coming of age story about a young woman in search of herself, her place in society, and while she may not know it, the perfect man to complete her. I feel like this story may have been the one least about romance and happy endings but more about the character of Fanny and her story.
It’s important for any Austen fan to read her complete works and I feel like there may come a time when I reread this story and have a better reaction and enjoy it more than I did this time around.
