REVIEW: Truly, Madly, Deadly

Title: Truly, Madly, Deadly
Author: Becca Wilcott
Finished: November 22, 2011
Pages: 271
Published: 2010
Format: paperback

I picked this one up due to my obsession with True Blood and it was definitely interesting.

The unofficial companion takes us through the entire storyline up until the published date, episode by episode, plus characters, timelines, and some great Q&A interview sessions.

I loved the section with burning questions for future episodes, plus more from Alan Ball and Charlaine Harris.

If you’re a True Blood fan you have to pick this one up!

REVIEW: The Tangible Kingdom

Title: The Tangible Kingdom
Author: Hugh Halter & Matt Smay
Finished: November 20, 2011
Pages: 195
Published: 2008
Format: First Edition

Our church did a study on this book and how to create a community that will last a lifetime. I picked this up after the fact to check out and read at my own pace.

It was definitely an interesting book with plenty of examples of how the authors over the years have created multiple sustainable communities around the teachings of God. I can’t recommend this book this book to just anyone but I found it very insightful and a fairly quick read.

REVIEW: 2001 A Space Odyssey

Title: 2001 A Space Odyssey
Author: Arthur C. Clarke
Finished: November 16, 2011
Pages: 320
Published: 1968
Format: audiobook

Another audiobook since sci-fi isn’t always my most favorite genre to read.

The book was created in conjunction with the movie version by Kubrick and according to Wikipedia is based on a series of short stories.

It’s been long enough since I listened and it wasn’t a favorite, that without quoting directly from a website, I think the title is pretty self-explanatory. The tale of a spaceman who begins to run into a series of issues with his ship and begins to believe that the onboard robot is sabotaging the mission on purpose.

It was definitely interesting when I got to the heart of the story, but still I felt there were slower parts.
