Figured it was time for a quick update. This is where I’m reading from right now … but it’s starting to get pretty warm so I might need to adjust this soon. Just made my shake lunch (2 week cleanses are not fun so far … 4 days in, hopefully it gets better).

I haven’t been blogging here at all lately … but the Read-a-Thon is happening today and I wanted a place to share. I haven’t been able to participate in the past couple and I almost didn’t make this one.

I’ll get into that later I’m sure. For now, here’s the intro meme and I want to start reading!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? I am in Boise, ID today and it’s going to be nice and hot for reading in the hammock.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I picked out a lot of books i’ve been wanting to read for awhile but I think My First New York would be my choice. I’m going on my second trip to NYC at the end of May and I can’t wait!
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Veggies and hummus dip and vegan jerky. I’m on a two week cleanse so my snacks are very limited.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I sold and had to move out of my house in five days (aka yesterday). Moved in with the parents for a few weeks. AND I’m building a brand new house (see below). This read-a-thon is much needed to relax and destress.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to? I don’t think I was able to participate last year, but I know this year I am very prepared with my snacks and drinks (easy when all you eat are veggies, drink water and make a smoothy).

Finishing the Series Challenge
My goal was to finish three or more series. I managed to get caught up with four of the five series I had listed. I consider that a success.

Rizzoli & Isles Reading Challenge
I think there have been a couple new books since I created this list, but the original list is complete. Yahoo!

Mystery & Suspense Challenge
Always one of my favorite challenges. I could have kept going but it was nice to finish at 24. I can definitely see the trend of who my most popular authors are.

Support Your Local Library Challenge
I tried to keep my library books to a minimum this year so that I would focus more on the books on my shelf that have been stacking up. 12 was the perfect number.

Read Your Own Books Challenge
My goal was the read 50 of my own books. I tried to focus on books I’ve had for awhile but I know that there were some brand new ones. I hope to continue increasing the number of my own books read each year.

New Authors Challenge
My goal was 15 and I made it well past that. I love finding new authors and getting recommendations from others. Can’t wait to see who I find this year.

Serial Killers Reading Challenge
This was a fun one. I only read a couple books off my wish list and of course it just shows how much James Patterson I really read. I don’t know if this one is going on in 2013 but it would be fun to join in again.

First off, I’ve still be reading. That’s the good news.

Second, I am extremely behind on my reviews but I’ve been keeping track of where I am at with challenges and wanted to hopefully work through getting a little bit more updated.

Third, I am looking to start up a new website (with a new blog) that won’t be so much reviews and challenges, but more about everything – life, work, books, writing, etc. Once that is up an running I will post the new link.

I’ll get going on updating my challenges and post an update. Reviews coming soon but will probably be short and sweet.
